Suns just up on a cool misty morning - were going to take a run - down the river - and follow the cypress trees,

Just hold on a little long dear - your gonna see what I mean.

We never seem to realize - that when the rains came - how high the Santa Fe river flows.

Around every bend we're hearing songs - there's a song I keep hearing called, The River of Springs.

Just hold on a little longer dear - your gonna see what I mean.

And we never even realized - that when the rains came - how high the Santa Fe river flows .

Chorus

Take a run down the river --- go as far as you can see -----

That's the life on the Santa Fe River -- Its for my brothers and sisters - and you - and me.

Theirs a log jamb ahead , ummmmmm, cant seem to push it away.

Just hold on a little longer girl - we're going to find a way.

And we never even realized - just when the rains came - how high the Santa Fe river flows .

Chorus, strings only.

And now the Sun's gone down - all along the river - and then the moon - yes the moon slow holy rose -

Moon light guides the way - taken a run - Going down -  down the Rocky Shoals.

And we never even realized -  The rains did come - The river shall  rise again - it will flow over its banks,  and wash all tears, troubles and sorrows away - that's the way the Santa Fe River flows. That's the way the Santa Fe river flows

How high the Santa Fe river flows -- How high the Santa - let it flow - let it flow - let it flow,

That's How high the Santa Fe river flows -------
